this coat just works with stripes. you might think it'd be too much of a clash but it's completely not. when i first spotted this coat online i thought no, no no, it's too bright - but i was lured in by the fact it was in the sale (who can resist a sale? it's so much easier to convince yourself to take a sartorial risk when the price is lower), and i'm glad i took that chance on it. it doesn't go with everything, but it's the coat i always reach for when an outfit needs a bit of a boost - or in this case, to stop me from looking too much like a sailor (although that might not have been a bad thing).

back, in (mostly) black

so, it's taken slightly longer than i'd hoped (10 months!), but i'm finally back to blogging. it feels crazy good to be writing a blog post again. the reason it's been so long is really just because my camera broke, and this coincided with a real disillusionment with blogging in general. i'm still not happy with my blog or the quality of my posts - but it's something i'm determined to work on.

but back to the important stuff - the clothes. i've accumulated a ridiculous amount of new clothes over the past few months, including everything you see above. i don't usually wear almost all black, but there's something about black jeans that calls for a black leather jacket, and of course, my usual black hat.

firstly - big sorry for not blogging in (gasp) 2 months! my camera's broken (these were taken with my trusty iphone), and in all honesty i've just been in a bit of a blogging/style slump. hopefully things can get back to normal soon!

but, i knew i couldn't wear this jumper and not take photos of it - it's got a cats face on it for goodness sake! the weird thing is, i don't even like cats much (i'm a dog person), but i was strangely drawn to it, & the amount of people who've told me they like it proves that it was a worthy purchase! paired it with the comfiest jeans ever, and vaguely carried on the cat theme with these leopard wedges i scored for £20 in the topshop sale, they're not exactly 'me' but they're actually dead nice.

firstly, huge huge sorry for not having blogged in weeks, i've just not had the time (or the weather, for that matter) to take any photos! but finally i've got something to post, hurrah.

so here i am sporting what everyone takes great delight in pointing out is a pyjama top, which is totally fine by me - i love wearing pyjamas. this top is silk so as you can imagine it creases so easily and is quite a hassle to wear, but by jolly if i don't absolutely love it. oh, and these denim shorts have leather pockets. that is all.

dream trousers

oh bloody hell, these trousers. topshop, thank you for making these. i already own them in teal (i'm sure you know the ones i'm talking about), and i didn't think i could love a pair of trousers any more, until these came along. the colour is really specific, not quite a lilac but not quite light blue. 

as for this jumper, it goes with everything. i will always prefer navy to black.

favourite things; cheap hat

this outfit is basically a mash-up of all my favourite things. polka dots, leather, grey jumper and a good hat. speaking of this hat, it cost me a POUND. a bloody POUND! while having a nosey around the topshop sale i headed over to the accessories section and, being a hat fan, was drawn to this solitary hat sitting on it's own on a shelf. after noticing it was £1, i had to have it. it's a lovely colour, but a funny shape. either way, it's earned it's place in my collection.

i'm finally back with a blog post! the weather has just been too awful to even think about doing outfit photos. frizz and soggy knitwear does not a good blog post make. but here i am, rocking a nice stripe, and in a very spring-like move, some pastel. i went crazy for all those royal colours over winter, so it's good to have a change, and i do love all these nice paler colours.
