the girls from art school

cardigan, black lace shorts & tan rucksack - topshop, boots - office (on sale), scarf - thrifted

my outfit from friday night. my first wear of my new boots and they are very comfortable. i already have some similar black boots but i liked these and they were cheap (note to self - must show more self-restraint). i really like this outfit, it's plain but the scarf jazzes things up and i have to say it's one of my favourite outfits i've worn in a long time. i always feel more 'stylish' when i'm wearing shorts and a top, sometimes when i'm wearing a dress, nomatter how great it is, i feel the outfit can be kind of dull sometimes. when there's more different pieces to the outfit it makes it more interesting somehow. just me?

i went to see inception today, has anyone else seen it? i have never felt more confused in a movie before.

  5. Love this outfit, the layering is perfect and love the boots!
I agree with you about feeling more stylish when you layer separate pieces, I guess it's just that bit more individual!

  10. Lovely outfit. That cardigan looks fantastic, and the scarf definitely jazzes it all up. I haven't seen Inception yet (not sure if it's come out here yet) but can't wait to see it!

  13. The boots are really cool! I cannot resist either when boots are cheap. I'm in a dilemma at the moment because I saw an amazing pair of ankle boots at Oasis but unfortunately they were not on sale and they were £65... but they were gorgeous, like, you know, the boots of my dreams! I saw a very similar pair a couple of years ago and always regretted not having bought them. And I don't know if I'll be able to find such a nice pair this winter. Haha. Excuses... I'm just a poor extravagant :p
Anyhow, love the outfit, especially the scarf! It goes very well with the white cardigan.

  14. Confused? Really. I liked the movie. It was so different, I mean a dream inside a dream. I thought maybe in the end, it would be a happy story, maybe he was dead or stuck in the in-between, not his wife, but whatever.Plus Ellen Page, Leonardo and Joseph Gordon-Levitt!

  15. Love the scarf, and the boots are amazing, too! I tend to feel the same way with shorts and a top/skirt and a top vs dress. Although when I do properly accessorize a dress outfit, I feel super accomplished haha.

Seeing Inception tomorrow... now I'm worried because I always have trouble understanding movies!
